Most of us like our sleep. After a long day it feels good to just go home, lay in our bed and fall straight to sleep. When we are sleeping nothing is more annoying than being woken up in the middle of the night. What's really a pain isn't really the whole waking up part, it the whole not being able to fall back asleep that is truly irritating. The average adult needs about 7 hours of sleep, it takes about 90 minutes after you fall asleep to reach the stage of REM sleep, so when you add in the amount of time it takes you to actually fall back asleep (lets say 45 minutes), you will end up losing about 2 hours of a good night sleep. When you're waking up in the morning tired and grumpy, you are going to be wishing you had those 2 hours back.

The most common reason people randomly wake up in the middle of the night is because of middle-of-the-night worrying. The stress and pressure we face during the day often continue to harass us when we're trying to get a good nights rest. So lets say you wake up in the middle of the night because of stress and you can't fall back asleep. What do you do? Before turning on the TV and saying 'well I'm already up' try these four tips to get you to fall back asleep faster and stay asleep.

For some people it takes the sound of a chainsaw to wake up in the morning, which has been solved by a new product on the market, but maybe the product harms heavy sleepers more than it helps them.

Everyone knows that when you sleep better, you feel better.  There are many ways to lead to a better nights rest.  While looking around and trying to figure out tricks and tips, I found several helpful hints.

First, you cannot control your sleep.  It is just a fact – we do not have control over sleep.  Once you have realized and accepted this fact, the stress to sleep will slowly dissipate.

Second, set yourself a bedtime, but remember to not get upset when you are not exactly asleep at this set time.  Be sure to be in bed and relaxing at your set bedtime.  It will help calm your body and create a better sleeping atmosphere.
