Controlling our weight is hard. What we eat, when we eat, and how much we exercise are at the forefront of our minds when we decide we need to lose a few ponds. There are many options to aid us in achieving our goals from gym memberships, to personal trainers, nutrition experts, and diet foods. However, our busy lives and lack of money can impede us from sticking to any plan. So, if it is this hard for us to lose weight with all our options, it makes sense that it is even harder for our pets. According to a recent survey, more than half of our beloved cats and dogs are overweight.
The media and certain campaigns focus on raising awareness about the risks of being overweight for humans. Well, our risks are a lot like those our pets are exposed to if they are overweight. These include breathing problems, type two diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and kidney disease. And if your pet is sick, your wallet is surely going to cry. Vet bills are astronomical and very few pet owners have any type of medical insurance for their animals. Only two pounds overweight for cats can cause complications, and only 5 pounds for dogs. Pets might be cute and fluffy when a bit overweight but if their weight is endangering their lives, shouldn’t you help the stay healthy and happy?

Type 1 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes in children. 90-95 per cent kids who are under 16 have Type 1 diabetes.
It is caused by the inability of the pancreas to produce insulin. Type 1 diabetes is classified as an autoimmune disease, meaning a condition in which the body's immune system 'attacks' one of the body's own tissues or organs. In Type 1 diabetes it's the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas that are destroyed.
As with adults, the cause of childhood diabetes is not understood. It probably involves a combination of genes and environmental triggers. The majority of children who develop Type 1 don't have a family history of diabetes.

There are easy ways your boost your Metabolic Rate. In just 7 simple steps I will tell you how to increase your metabolic rate. The first step is to build muscle mass. This is a simple but very effective way. I think this is the best way and worked for me. As a male this might be the key way to increase your metabolic rate. When you strength train you build lean muscle tissue. This increase in lean muscle tissue will burn more calories throughout your day. It will help you burn more calories all the time! It is easy to begin strength training; you can begin by doing pushups and sit-ups. Also pull ups and dips are an amazing way to build muscle and tone your body. After sometime of strength training you will feel better, be stronger, and definitely see the results. You should do these about 3-4 times a week.
The next step is to not skip meals, or reduce your caloric intake greatly. If your body feels that there is a short in food supply it will slow down its metabolic rate to conserve energy. A way to avoid this is to cut your caloric intake no more than 500 calories. Also you should never have less than 1200 calories or your body will put itself into “starve mode”. You should eat about 6 times a day to keep your metabolic rate up so figure the amount of calories you will want to eat in that day and divide it by 6, or by how many times a day you will eat.
Did you know when your doctor says you have a digestive disorder, he doesn’t just mean “digestive disorder”. There are many types of digestive disorders and you may fall under one or more of them simultaneously. Lets briefly have a look at what some of them important ones truly are.
