Coffee is good for you.
Currently it is the number one source of Antioxidants in the American Diet. The antioxidants found in coffee may possibly prevent certain types of cancer and may reduce the risk of alcoholic cirrhosis by 22%. Caffeine can also help slow down the aging process and it also enhances short-term-memory performance.
Like anything remember that moderation is key. Keep it to about 4 8-ounce cups a day. If you drink more of that you are putting yourself at risk for cardiovascular disease and other heart problems.
Keep it low-cal.
Go for the good stuff. Regular drip coffee has no calories until you add milk and sugar to it. Specialty drinks like lattes and mochas are often loaded with sugar and fat. Try to stay away from the heavy cream and artificial sweeteners too. If you drink your coffee with 4 sugars try to bring that number down a little each day. It will help you cut out some calories.
